{"id":5314,"date":"2022-05-16T07:50:09","date_gmt":"2022-05-15T19:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jamesandwells.com\/?p=5314"},"modified":"2022-05-16T10:56:06","modified_gmt":"2022-05-15T22:56:06","slug":"james-wells-announce-new-partner-mark-williams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jamesandwells.com\/nz\/james-wells-announce-new-partner-mark-williams\/","title":{"rendered":"James &#038; Wells announce new partner, Mark Williams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Williams as a Partner to lead our Australian trade mark practice.<\/p>\n<p>Mark is an Australian lawyer and Registered Australian Trade Mark Attorney, with nearly 30-years\u2019 of experience in IP firms, and almost 20-years\u2019 of trade mark experience with Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick and then Allens in Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Having started initially in IP administration roles, Mark has a solid grounding in IP systems and practices and has gone on to build a very successful career in trade marks.<\/p>\n<p>He advises on complex branding and trade mark issues, and has managed several noteworthy trade mark portfolios for clients including The Just Group and Jaguar Land Rover.<\/p>\n<p>Mark specialises in both contentious and non-contentious trade mark work including trade mark clearance searching, infringement advice, filing and prosecution of trade mark applications, foreign trade mark filing and protection strategies and initiating and defending trade mark opposition and removal actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMark will be a great addition to the James &amp; Wells trade mark team. His specialist knowledge and experience in trade mark practice will be incredibly beneficial to our clients as we look to further build our trade mark footprint in the Australian market\u201d says James &amp; Wells Managing Partner, Tim Walden.<\/p>\n<p>Mark is a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ), Fellow of the Australian Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys (IPTA) and a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to building a strong Australian based trade marks team and practice with James &amp; Wells.
