About Samuel

Samuel joined the Hamilton Patents Team in 2017. He is a registered Trans-Tasman Patent Attorney with expertise in electronic, software and mechanical inventions.

Samuel’s software development background includess embedded software projects, as well as developing electronic test fixtures. Sam’s software expertise has primarily been in C, C# and JAVA.

Samuel’s product development experience includes animal weigh-scales, electronic identification (EID) readers, data-logging devices, intrinsically safe mining products, and high-security products such as access control readers.

Exposure to high-security product development has given Samuel experience with data manipulation, cryptography, and complex software algorithms.

Experience

Samuel joined James & Wells from Gallagher Group Ltd where his role of Senior Electronics Engineer saw him developing many products including animal weigh-scales, electronic identification (EID) readers and security access control readers. Samuel also worked on a variety of intellectual property matters at Gallagher.

His thesis centred on the design and development of impulse regeneration technology to extend the working range of electric fence networks, and advanced electric fence fault finding equipment using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR).
